Position Overview

As a Yard Manager at AVS Fencing, you play a vital role in overseeing the daily operations of our yard, ensuring efficiency, safety, and exceptional service delivery while managing an enthusiastic team dedicated to achieving company goals.

Location - Horse Cross, Standon Road, Ware, SG11 2PU.

Working Hours

This full-time position entails a 44.5-hour workweek from Monday to Friday, 07:30 to 17:00, and alternate Saturdays from 08:00 to 12:00.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the coordination and management of yard operations to ensure timely service and high safety standards.
• Maintain a well-organised, efficient, and clean yard environment.
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance customer service and satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and procedures.
• Manage and train yard staff, providing guidance and performance feedback.
• Facilitate stock control and inventory management, including ordering supplies as needed.
• Collaborate with other departments to achieve seamless operational processes.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proven experience in a managerial role within a similar yard environment - essential.
• Live and Valid Forklift License - essential. 
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
• Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
• Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficient in using computer systems and inventory management software.
• A keen commitment to maintaining health and safety standards.
• Ability to adapt in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
