Van Driver - Coulsdon
As a 3.5T Van Driver, you’ll be a key representative of Lawsons, ensuring that our customers receive their orders accurately and efficiently. This is a hands-on role, perfect for someone who enjoys being out on the road as well as delivering top-notch customer care. Working closely with our yard, sales, and logistics teams, you’ll provide an essential link between our business and our valued customers across the community.

Main Responsibilities of a 3.5T Van Driver at Lawsons Coulsdon
- Safely deliver timber, fencing, and landscaping materials to domestic and trade customers using a 3.5T delivery van.
- Load and unload products efficiently and safely, ensuring all necessary checks and paperwork are completed for each delivery.
- Provide excellent face-to-face customer service, answering basic queries and being a professional ambassador for Lawsons at all times.
- Work collaboratively with warehouse and yard staff to organise, check, and collect daily orders for delivery.
- Conduct regular vehicle safety checks, report defects, and maintain a clean and presentable van.
- Assist in the yard or warehouse as required, contributing positively to a smooth-running operation.
- Follow all health and safety procedures, both at Lawsons sites and customer locations.
Skills and Experience – What Makes a Great Van Driver?
- Full UK driving licence (Category B) with a safe driving record.
- Previous experience as a delivery driver, van driver, or similar customer-facing driving role is highly desirable.
- Comfortable with manual handling and physical work, with a keen focus on safety and attention to detail.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a busy team.
- Customer-focused attitude and excellent communication skills.
- Familiarity with local routes around Coulsdon and surrounding areas advantageous, but not essential.
- Commitment to Lawsons’ values of professionalism, teamwork, and customer service.

Working Hours, Benefits, and Rewards
- Full-time hours: 44.5 hours per week (Monday–Friday 07:30–17:00, alternate Saturdays 08:00–12:00).
- Salary up to £32,000, dependent on experience.
