Security Guard Job Purpose – Ascot
As a Security Guard at Lawsons in Ascot, you will be responsible for safeguarding company property, ensuring the safety of employees, customers, and visitors, and contributing to a secure and welcoming work environment. You will play a key role in loss prevention, incident response, and upholding our company’s best practices across the site.
Working Hours: Full-time, 44.5 hours per week. Monday to Friday 07.00 – 16:30, plus 1 in 2 Saturdays 08:00 – 12:00.
Branch Location - Englemere sawmill, London Rd, Winkfield Row, Ascot, SL5 8DG.
Key Responsibilities...
- Patrol and monitor the Ascot branch premises to deter theft, vandalism, and unauthorised access.
- Check and control all incoming and outgoing vehicles and individuals, ensuring only authorised personnel and visitors have access.
- Respond promptly and professionally to alarms, incidents, and emergencies, following company procedures and reporting appropriately.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and report maintenance or safety issues to management.
- Monitor CCTV systems and maintain detailed security logs.
- Support the branch in maintaining a safe, tidy, and secure work environment.
- Assist in enforcing health & safety and fire safety protocols throughout the branch.
- Provide excellent customer service to employees and visitors, representing Lawsons’ values and standards at all times.
- Support any investigations into incidents and provide accurate written reports as required.
- Carry out other reasonable duties as instructed by branch management.
Required Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a Security Guard, Security Officer, or similar security role (essential).
- Valid SIA Security Guard or Door Supervisor Licence (essential).
- Strong observational skills with attention to detail and vigilance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Knowledge of basic health & safety protocol.
- Ability to use CCTV, radio, and relevant security technology.
- Professional, courteous, and approachable manner.
- Commitment to upholding Lawsons’ standards, policies, and best practices.
- Physically fit and able to undertake foot patrol duties.
- Reliable, punctual, and flexible regarding shifts and occasional extra hours.
