Area Sales Manager Career in Camden – Sales Leadership in Timber & Building Materials

Working Hours & Location – Area Sales Manager Camden
This is a permanent, full-time role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
The role covers Camden and surrounding areas, with regular travel to customer sites and Lawsons Group branches.

Key Area Sales Manager Responsibilities – Timber, Fencing & Building Materials
- Develop, manage, and grow a portfolio of trade and retail clients, maximising sales opportunities in Camden and the surrounding territory.
- Identify and win new business accounts, building senior-level relationships with contractors, builders, and commercial customers.
- Deliver outstanding customer service, providing expert technical advice on our wide product range, including specialist timber and building supplies.
- Prepare accurate quotations, negotiate terms and close sales effectively, in line with company margins and targets.
- Collaborate closely with branch teams, yard operatives, and central support to ensure seamless customer experience from order to delivery.
- Maintain up-to-date records of customer activity, pipeline, and sales performance using our CRM systems.
- Actively monitor local market trends, competitor activity, and pricing to maximise opportunities and inform commercial strategy.
- Champion Lawsons Group’s standards of inclusion, professionalism, and customer care in all external and internal dealings.
- Support branch events, promotional activities, and key customer meetings, helping achieve group targets and growth ambitions.
About You – Skills & Qualities for Success as an Area Sales Manager
- Proven track record in business-to-business sales, ideally with experience in the construction, timber, or building materials sector.
- Able to demonstrate achievement of sales targets and successful account development.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills – with the ability to build relationships at all levels, both externally and within a team.
- Confident, proactive, and commercially minded with strong organisational abilities.
- IT proficient – able to use CRM, Microsoft Office, and sales reporting systems effectively.
- Energetic and resilient – keen to learn new products, processes, and adapt in a fast-paced, growing business.

- Full UK driving licence is essential.
