Main Responsibilities – HGV Driver (Hiab) at AVS Rudgwick
- Ensure the safe, timely, and professional delivery of timber, fencing, and building materials to local trade and retail customers
- Operate Hiab/crane equipment with care and in line with all safety regulations during loading and unloading of deliveries
- Carry out vehicle checks and daily maintenance routines, reporting any faults or defects promptly
- Deliver excellent customer service and represent Lawsons/AVS positively at all times on site and on the road
- Assist with the safe and efficient loading of vehicles in the yard when required
- Maintain all delivery paperwork and records accurately and in line with company processes
- Participate in all relevant Health & Safety procedures to ensure safe working practices for yourself, colleagues, and the public
- Support colleagues and work collaboratively within a high-performing team
Essential Skills & Experience – HGV Class 2 (Hiab) Careers in Rudgwick
- Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence and up-to-date CPC qualification
- Valid Hiab (Lorry Loader crane) certificate/experience operating hydraulic loading cranes
- Previous experience delivering building materials or similar goods
- Strong road safety and compliance knowledge, with a commitment to maintaining vehicle standards
- Friendly and professional customer service skills, representing Lawsons standards to all customers and partners
- Reliable, punctual and able to work both independently and as part of a supportive team
- Organised approach to delivery paperwork, vehicle checks, and route planning
- Willingness to learn and take on varied branch duties as required
Working Hours – HGV Driving Jobs, Rudgwick Branch
This is a full-time, permanent driving position.
Working hours are Monday to Friday, 07:00 – 17:00.
