Position Overview
Join Lawsons as an HGV Class 2 Hiab driver based at The Landscape Centre. In this role you will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of goods using an HGV Class 2 vehicle equipped with a Hiab crane, providing professional customer service at every delivery location and ensuring products are handled and presented to company standards.
Working Hours
This is a full-time, permanent position, working 44.5 hours per week: Monday to Friday (shifts ranging between 07:00 to 17:00) with alternate Saturdays 08:00 to 12:00.

Main Responsibilities
Operate an HGV Class 2 vehicle and Hiab crane safely and in line with company procedures and legal requirements.
Deliver products to customers efficiently, ensuring correct quantities and quality on arrival.
Load and unload materials using the Hiab crane and assist with manual handling where required, following safe working practices.
Provide excellent customer service, representing Lawsons professionally at all times and building positive customer relationships.
Complete all required delivery paperwork accurately and promptly.
Report any vehicle defects, product damage, incidents or near-misses in accordance with company health and safety procedures.
Be vigilant to prevent loss or damage of stock and company property.
Contribute to identifying potential sales opportunities during customer visits and communicate these to the branch team.
Qualifications and Skills
Valid HGV Class 2 licence (C) and up-to-date Driver CPC (essential).
Proven Hiab/loader crane qualification and demonstrable experience operating a Hiab (essential).
Previous experience in delivery driving, ideally within builders’ merchants or landscape supplies.
Good customer service skills with a friendly, professional manner.
Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure, manage time effectively and maintain reliability.
Willingness to learn about company products and follow company processes and standards.
