Assistant Branch Manager - Salfords
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and proactive individual with experience in builders’ merchants, trade sales, or branch operations. As an Assistant Branch Manager in Salfords, you will work closely with the Branch Manager and the wider team, ensuring outstanding customer service, efficient branch operations, and continued business growth. Working Hours – Assistant Branch Manager (Salfords)
This is a full-time, permanent role. Standard working pattern is 44.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 17:00, with 1 in 3 Saturdays from 08:00 to 12:00.

Main Responsibilities – Assistant Branch Manager (Building Materials, Timber & Fencing)
Support the Branch Manager with day-to-day running of the Salfords branch to deliver excellent service and operational efficiency
Supervise, motivate, and develop the team, promoting a positive and inclusive working environment
Assist with customer service across trade counter, yard, and telesales functions
Oversee stock management, ordering, and deliveries to ensure product availability and high branch standards
Drive branch sales by identifying new business opportunities and supporting promotional activities
Support safe working practices and ensure compliance with all health & safety policies
Manage cash handling, customer accounts, and relevant branch administration
Deal professionally with any customer queries, issues, or feedback
Foster continuous improvement and support training of colleagues
Deputise for the Branch Manager as required
Skills & Experience – Assistant Branch Manager Requirements
Relevant experience working in a builders’ merchant, supplier, or similar trade-based environment (essential)
Previous exposure to branch operations, customer service, or team supervision (essential)
Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate others
Confident in handling sales enquiries and building good customer relationships
Knowledge of building materials, timber, or fencing products highly desirable
Organised, adaptable, and willing to take responsibility in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrates professionalism, respect, and a commitment to customer satisfaction
Keen to learn, develop, and progress a career within our growing company
