The Role
Working from our AVS Guildford branch, you will be responsible for proactively generating sales via telephone and supporting branch activity to increase revenue and gross margin. You will make outbound calls to prospective and existing customers, qualify leads, manage enquiries and close sales. You will also handle inbound telesales queries, process orders accurately and work closely with the branch team to ensure excellent customer service and effective order fulfilment.
Working hours
Monday - Friday 07:30 - 17:00 and every 2nd Saturday 08:00 - 12:00 = 44.5 hours per week.

Key Accountabilities:
Proactively make outbound calls to generate sales and qualify leads.
Answer inbound telesales and quotation enquiries promptly, accurately and professionally.
Achieve individual and branch sales targets and contribute to improving margins.
Process orders accurately using the company systems and ensure timely handover to the branch for fulfilment.
Build and maintain strong relationships with trade and retail customers, providing product advice and promoting add-on items.
Keep accurate records of customer interactions and follow up on outstanding leads and quotations.
Provide market feedback to branch management on customer preferences and competitor activity.
Ensure compliance with company policies, audit requirements and best practice for telesales activity.
Support the branch team during peak periods and contribute to a high standard of customer service at all times.
Assist with counter sales when required, serving customers at the branch and preparing orders for collection.
We would love to meet someone who...
Has previous telesales or phone-based sales experience, ideally within a builders merchants or trade supply environment (essential).
Demonstrates a positive and friendly attitude and enjoys engaging with customers over the phone.
Is confident, persuasive and able to influence customers to secure sales and promote additional products.
Has excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Is competent in using CRM systems, telephone systems and basic IT applications.
Is target-driven, organised and able to manage time effectively.
Has strong attention to detail and accurate order processing skills.
Is able to assist with counter transactions and customer enquiries in-branch when needed.
Will represent and promote the company’s culture, values and professionalism at all times.
